Born in Blair, he was a son of the late Jesse Boyd and Lucy Adams Adams. He was a member of Cedar Grove Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Church Men, the Adult Sunday School Class, served three terms on Church Council and was a former Chairman and member of the Property Committee for 18 years. Mr. Adams was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Ridge Road Community Club, and he was a farmer and carpenter. He operated Lake Murray Grill and Ascaris Shop, now Fisherman's Wharf, Camp Ground and Bait Shop.

Mr. Adams was instrumental in the development of Lake Murray as well as building of the dam. He and Mrs. Adams celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary September, 1997. Surviving are his wife, Annie Mae Kyzer Adams; a son, Charles H.

3, 1998, in a Florence hospital after an illness. He was born in Floyds, a son of the late Daniel Roy and Mary Eunice Jackson Ford. He graduated from Clemson University in 1941, where he was a member of the Alpha Zeta Fraternity. He was on active duty with the U.S. Army Infantry as lieutenant from June 27, 1941, to August 26, 1944.

He attended Officers Communication School and served as Battalion Communication Officer until discharged because of disability. He was first lieutenant when discharged. He served in World War II. was research agronomist with the USDA for years, and then worked as are an agronomist with the Pee Dee Branch of the Clemson Experimental Station. Mr.

Ford was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Ed Rivers Bible Class. Surviving are his wife, Edith Todd Ford of Florence; a daughter, Betty Ford Ayers Edinburg, a son, Zarvis Thomas "Tom" Ford Jr. of Florence; two sisters, Sara Connelly and Bernice Nunnery, both of Nichols; three brothers, Edgar Ford of Cerro Gordo, N.C., Roy Ford of Chesapeake, and Bennett Ford of Floyds; and four granddaughters, Suzanne Ford, Elizabeth Ford, Carolyn Ayers, and Robin Ayers. 19 surviving nieces and nephews.

Kary Crosby VARNVILLE Funeral services for Kary Mell Edwards Crosby, 64, will be 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton with burial in the St. Paul Cemetery. Mrs. Crosby, widow of Willie Oliver Crosby died Tuesday afternoon in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Crosby was born in Hampton County, August 13, 1933, a daughter of the late Glenn and Rebecca Davis Edwards. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hampton First Christian Church.

Surviving are: five sons, Willie Oliver Crosby Jr. of Macon, Ronald Eugene Crosby of Burton, Richard Edward Crosby of North Charleston, Byron Issac Crosby Beaufort, and James Ray Crosby of Florence; two daughters, Kary Ann Stanley of Norfolk, and Leslie Ann Timms of Beaufort; one brother, Rev. Freddie Edwards of Varnville; done sister, Evelyn McCrary of Estill. There are 27 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren. Catherine Cullum WARD Services for Catherine Holmes Cullum, 87, of Route 1 Box 24, will be held at 11 a.m.

Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at Bland Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Thomas Barwick and the Rev. Lon Knight. Burial will be in Mount of Olives Cemetery.
