well I'm an accountant and I love stats. I love looking sports–reference.com and winsipedia.I also love trash talking my Auburn friends.

In my opinion records and championships before desegregation aren't that relevant. Sorry Minnesota and your eight national championships! And it just so happens the last school desegregated about 50 years ago – good job ole miss! So, I'll frequently reference the last 50 years.

Today's stat is double digit wins in the last 20 years and 50 years.

Georgia Tech 2 in the last 20 and 4 in the last 50– pitiful.

South Carolina 3/4 – why did we let them in?

    Tennessee 3/11.– yawn

Auburn 5/12 –as everyone knows, good every four years

Florida 7/16 –everything about this school happened between 1991 and 2010. Reverting to the mean.

Georgia 14/23 –unfortunately the 90s happened.

Alabama 17/31.– unfortunately the last 17 years happened

thanks to Kirby were back as the second best program in the SEC. In the last eight years we surged past LSU, Tennessee to reclaim our semi – blueblood status. When Kirby retires I firmly expect we will be a top-five historical program.

    Shouldn’t have Aub friends.

    We’ve always been semi-blue. We’re getting closer to blue-blue.

I don't know why, but this made me laugh. Then came the flood of possible scenarios running through my mind.

two issues: no QB and this is the year they play at Bama and at Georgia. Probably a seven win season.

Hell, we are 4th in wins in CFB since the SEC was founded in 1933.

    https://stassen.com/cgi-bin/records/calc-wp.pl?start=1933&end=2023&rpct=30&min=5&se=on&by=Wins

4th in wins since universal integration in 1972.

    https://stassen.com/cgi-bin/records/calc-wp.pl?start=1972&end=2023&rpct=30&min=5&se=on&by=Wins

And 2nd in wins in the 21st century.

    https://stassen.com/cgi-bin/records/calc-wp.pl?start=2001&end=2023&rpct=30&min=5&se=on&by=Wins

If you are CFB program and your name isn't Alabama, Oklahoma or Ohio State you are relying on some really old, pre- Franklin Roosevelt ***** to claim you are ahead of us.

Good stuff. I agree but only those programs can talk trash to us. A couple more Championships and I'll be even more unbearable!

Always love a balanced and self aware post. We are historically, not a blue blood. But in the pantheon of all-time programs, what CKS has accomplished in the least 7 years has firmly placed us back in Tier 2 of all-time programs along with Michigan, Texas, LSU, Clemson, Florida, FSU, Miami, AU, TN, and Nebraska. We're still below what I consider to be Tier 1 - Ohio State, Bama, ND, the real USC, and Oklahoma.

And, yes, I agree... by the time he retires, assuming he coaches for at least another 7-10 years, we could join Tier 1. My program rankings are based on the timeframe since 1920. Nobody cares about 1800s Yale.

Amazing times to be a Dawg.

Thank you! I feel balanced and self-aware –lol. I agree with all except I won't even call for tier 2.Ftmf
