Last week, a few of our team members had the opportunity to delve into the world of TikTok for Business during a Planning Professional Training morning. They returned with valuable insights that shed light on how to approach this dynamic platform. Here's what they had to say...Tomรกs Galanti emphasized the need to reconsider TikTok's position in the marketing landscape. He argued that TikTok should no longer be categorized with other social media platforms but rather presented as a video channel comparable to YouTube or BVOD. This point was reinforced by Max Zagorski when he stated, "Many brands tend to avoid TikTok because they struggle to determine what kind of content they should produce and whether it will resonate on the platform."This brings us to the topic of creativity. sally powell, our creative guru, posed the question, "What's the most common creative mistake you see?" To which she answered: supply a square video rather than relying on the array of resources such as the TikTok Creative Centre, Creator Marketplace, Creative Tools, TikTok Marketing Partners, and TikTok Creative Exchange. Max also added that the easiest way to excel in creativity is by simply searching for existing videos about your brand on TikTok and seeing what people are saying. He suggests, "To take this a step further, by integrating your 1st-party data into TikTok's audience tool, brands can see which hashtags and niches their users gravitate towards content-wise."Further, regarding creative excellence, Kyle Mercado drew attention to TikTok's Conversion API, which offers advertisers the ability to report cleaner data. He emphasized that this transformation positions TikTok as a more performance-oriented channel, enabling accurate tracking of purchases and ROAS.
