Winning the MLG National Championships back in 2011 at the age of 17, the veteran would go on to become a legendary member of FaZe Clan and help them claim their first championship in 2014.

After leaving the competitive COD scene but remaining as a content creator for FaZe, Censor announced his comeback with the release of Call of Duty: WWII.

However, his journey back to the top has been anything but plain sailing. Many fans and fellow pro players were quick to write him off, believing Censor is not the player he once was and for a while, it was difficult not to agree with them.

Censor's return was plagued with controversy. From points being deducted for receiving free wins to a scandal involving Evil Geniuses as well as his own team Next Threat dispersing, the 23-year-old could not seem to find his footing in the modern competitive scene.

It isn't a secret that Censor has been trying to get back into the FaZe team but after supposedly being promised the captain spot, he was omitted from the roster and instead, joined Lightning Pandas.

It proved to be a massive step in the right direction as Lightning Pandas knocked out FaZe Clan to advance to the top eight at the Call of Duty World League in Birmingham last weekend.

Censor is adamant that FaZe Clan's failure at CWL Birmingham was down to the fact they overlooked him.

He said: "I was promised to be the captain of the FaZe team going into this game and a lot of people said I wasn't going to have the time and I wasn't going to be able to devote myself to the game, I guess people just didn't want to take my word.

"FaZe went with the player I didn't agree with, in fact, I didn't agree with any of their roster moves they made. I don't think anyone has more heart than me and I think it showed, I knew we were always going to beat them.

"That win was very personal to me. FaZe is my baby, I took FaZe in, won their first championship and I owe a lot to them. I love COD and I love FaZe Clan so to have it taken away from me sucks. If I had the FaZe team I would have won an event by now and I will always try and prove that.

"They haven't won in two and a half years, I don't care if they're number one in the division, it doesn't mean anything. It only means your seed for the play-offs so, they haven't won any events and after they got fourth it just went downhill.

"If you look around, there is so much competition and it also takes a lot of luck but I think the biggest thing you need is heart and I think that's something I'd bring to the FaZe team.

"I don't know how well they would have done if they beat us, I know they were really confident going into the event. They're all good friends with each other and have done decent in this game but at the end of the day, people don't remember who got second or fourth or eighth. The people that get remembered are the people who win. If you're not winning, what are you doing?

"FaZe is one of the biggest, if not, the biggest organisations behind Optic in Competitive COD. They have all the recourses in the world to get the best talents and players. If you're not winning for this long, I just don't understand what you're doing."

Censor also believes that the FaZe team decided not to go with him because the players didn't want to play with him.

He said: "ZooMaa wanted to play with Replays, Replays wanted Priestahh, Replays did not want to play with me, ZooMaa probably didn't either and Attach was 50/50. They built their tightknit group together and they didn't believe in me as a player.

"I just don't think they respect me. I think that they feel if you take a lot of time off the game, it's hard to come back and they don't think I'm good enough to win but I am good enough, I wouldn't be here if I didn't feel that way.

"I would love to be the captain of FaZe and win champs with them - that has always been one of my goals and if they gave me the chance, I fully believe I can make that happen."

Censor's love for FaZe goes beyond competitive COD, after taking time off from competing, he turned his attention to Youtube.

Boasting two and a half million subscribers, Censor has established himself as one of the biggest creators within FaZe Clan and the Youtube community.

Fellow creator KSI recently announced he'd be fighting controversial Youtuber Logan Paul in a boxing match in August.

It has been predicted to be the biggest Youtube event of all time and Censor admitted he'd get in the ring if the right opponent came along.

He said: "It'd be a lot of fun to do one of those boxing matches. I'm really competitive so if I was going to fight another Youtuber I would probably stop playing COD to train for that. I wouldn't be able to be a pro player and train for a boxing match at the same time. I'd have to give all my attention to one thing to be successful.

"I actually called out SSSniperwolf's boyfriend Sausage but he didn't respond. He's all about his weight loss transformation and he told me how much he hates me so I feel something like a boxing match would motivate him. It'd be a win win for everybody, he can get in shape and we'd have a great entertaining match!

"I wouldn't mind fighting either one of the Pauls, they're probably in my weight class, they're athletic kids so that could be a lot of fun."

Censor also weighed in on who he thinks will come out on top between KSI and Logan Paul.

He said: "Logan has more athletic abilities for me but obviously KSI has had more boxing experience but personally, I think Logan will win it. I wouldn't be surprised if either of them wins, I can't wait to watch it.

"People settling their beef with boxing makes things so much more fun in the Youtube community. As long as you're not personally attacking people or trying to degrade them, if you beat someone up in a boxing ring, it's competition and entertainment.

"I love competition, I don't care if that kind of thing is for subscribers, views or money, it's competition and it's fun which is what everything is all about in life."

Censor, who has had his differences with FaZe Clan, confesses he would be up for fighting Priestahh.

He said: "Priestahh, the Jimmy Neutron looking kid. If I had to fight any of the pro players in FaZe it'd be him.

"I remember meeting him for the first time in Montreal when I played against him and he beat my team. He played really well and came up to me after the event. I complimented him and told him he played well and he says 'yer Doug, you're trying to take my spot, I can't let that happen'. I wanted to strangle the kind, it was very cut throat.

"I don't hate any of them, it's competition and the more people talk down to me, which happens a lot, the more it motivates me."
